As administrative assistant, Melissa supports the Mana Pacific team with professionalism and care, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, values-driven consultancy services across Aotearoa and the Pacific.
Melissa is New Zealand-born of Samoan heritage from her father's side, and palagi ancestry on her mother's side. She provides essential adminstrative support to the Mana Pacific team, coordinating logistics, travel, and communication across multiple Pacific nations. With over a decade of experience at New Zealand Post - most recently as a Team Leader - Melissa brings practical expertise in operational coordination, team support, and service delivery. Melissa is excited to continue supporting research that uplifts Pacific communities and contributes to policy and practice grounded in lived realities and collective aspirations.
The work that Melissa is proud of includes:
- The Rising Stories research project, spanning six Pacific nations, required seamless coordination of travel, communication, and logistics to support a large team of researchers and filmmakers working across diverse locations. Melissa provided administrative and logistical support, including booking travel, managing correspondence, and liaising with internal team members and external partners across the Pacific region.
